Spring is almost here ..

Second chance for spring bulbs

So often we hear people expressing their frustration that they were too busy in the autumn to plant bulbs for the spring… if that’s you, here’s your second chance!!

Bulbs can be planted ‘in the green’ which is when they are starting to show growth and now is the time to plant them. Some bulbs, particularly snowdrops, are actually more successful if they are planted in the green. We also prefer to plant crocus in the green as they tend to be an scavenged by squirrels and pheasants if they are planted as bulbs.

They are so versatile, you can plant them in pots for the house right now and then plant out in the garden once they are going over. Or just plant them straight in the garden now and they will come back every year.

We have lots of bulbs planted up for the house or ready to pop in the garden … as soon as it becomes diggable .!!

In other news .. we are looking for somebody to work in our lovely little shop on Sundays .. if you think this is for you, or know somebody who may be interested .. please email shop@thepottingsheds.com

Thank you … have a lovely weekend xx
