For whoever fancies it this time ..

We are running a Spring wreath workshop here in our shop on the evening of the 18th March ( it’s a Wednesday).

A beautiful moss wreath, full of branches and flowers, bulbs and twigs, decorated just as you wish, is the aim.

Prosecco, hot apple juice and treats will of course be provided, places are limited as our shop is tiny.

There will be 10% discount off any shop purchases made on the night.

It is Mothering Sunday a few days later so this may be a lovely gift idea for somebody special.

Adjustments.jpeg

The course will cost £45 and will run from 6.30 - 8.30pm.

Please email if you are interested. Have a lovely weekend.

Oh … and to the lovely elderly lady (over 85), who I thought was struggling to find her purse to pay for her new basket, who then, as quick as a flash, paid using her white Apple Watch, you made my week .

Thank you xx

For the boys ..

We are thinking of doing a valentines workshop on the evening of Wednesday 12th February, mainly for the boys.

Adjustments.jpeg

It would be a really relaxed evening, where you would create your own hand tied bouquet to give to your loved one.

Sausage rolls and beer ( non alcoholic will be available too) would of course be provided, plus a glass vase to take it home in.

Adjustments.jpeg

The course would cost £45 and be from 6.30pm until 8pm.

Please email me if you would be interested at shop@thepottingsheds.com

Thank you xx

Happy New Year from us all xx

Thank you ..

Adjustments.jpeg

It’s time to say a very very big thank you for all of your kindness and support over the past year, it has been amazing. Thank you so much.
The landscapers and gardeners will restart work on Monday 8th January. The shop will reopen on Friday 3rd January with our fantastic 50% sale.
From all of us at The Potting Sheds, we wish you the jolliest Christmas and a very very Happy New Year xx

Nice Surprises ..

Oh this was a lovely way to start the shop day, … It was frosty even inside (the fire hadn’t warmed up yet), I was hopping about trying to get warm and checked my emails.

.

.

And there, was a beautiful message from one of our gorgeous brides, with photographs of her wedding day, and of her flowers, which I was lucky enough to do, and, kind words.
What a lovely way to start the week.

My very lengthy to do list was forgotten.

Dom is an artist and her ideas and vision were beautiful. She made the amazing cake, painted her own invites, and created a very special and very personal day.

Thank you so much for letting me be a part of it, I wish you both all the happiness in the world.

In other news, there is still an awful lot of these to make, but rather than getting a wriggle on and getting them done,

I am distracted by testing paint samples for the shop walls (lamp room grey and worsted, thoughts?), and having what has become a thing, a lunch of Quality Street xx

Tonight sees the last of our late night shopping evenings.

Adjustments.jpeg

We are all open until 9pm, there will music, food and a fire in the courtyard and we have wreaths, eucylptus, present ideas and cheer for you in our little shop.

We would love to see you later xx

About last night ..

Last night we held our first wreath workshop of the winter.

Adjustments.jpeg

As usual for me, the day was filled with nerves, insecurities and worries which I seem to get in the lead up to these things. I don’t know why.
So thank you so much to the lovely friends, family, and customers who said and did such kind things to try and make me feel more confident.

We had prosecco, warm apple juice, cakes, chocolate and a choral festive playlist (good choice!!) at he ready and all sampled .

Adjustments.jpeg

Oh my….

By 6.15pm the shop was full of the friendliest, chattery-iest and happiest flock of girls ( boys, you would be made very very welcome if you fancy wreath making !!)

..

..

Adjustments.jpeg

We had all the eucalyptus-es, ivy, fir, wax flower, limonium, berries, twigs and ribbons, and every single wreath was completely amazing.
Simple, mad, massive, ordered, neat and crazy, all utterly different and all utterly beautiful.

Adjustments.jpeg

This little shop was alive with such kind and lovely friends who hopefully went home full of an evening to remember.

Adjustments.jpeg

Thank you all so much for coming, we hope you loved it, your wreaths and company were simply wonderful. Thank you.

Now to tidy up xx

About us ..

The shop, which I chatter on about all the time, is only a very tiny part of The Potting Sheds.
We also have an amazingly creative landscape design team whose vision, skill and attention to detail are exemplary.

Adjustments.jpeg

They were recently asked to design and create a new patio to compliment a stunning new kitchen extension. Crittal windows and doors have been used in the new build and the internal floors had been raised hence the new patio had to be quite high.

Adjustments.jpeg

Using reclaimed Cheshire pre-war common brick to match the house, a perimeter wall was built to surround the new patio area, then infilled with hardcore.

.

.

Gorgeous oversized steps were built at either end (chattering to our lovely Early whilst taking photographs)

A trip to the reclamation yard provided air bricks and cast iron topped channel drains.

Adjustments.jpeg

Bricks were laid and cut in a herringbone design on a dry mix of sand and cement, then kiln dried sand was brushed into the gaps, creating a very beautiful addition to an already stunning garden.
